Fred Gituku

Human Resources Manager, Board Member - Vivo Energy Kenya Limited.
Fred Gituku has more than twenty years’ HR leadership experience straddling various sectors and organisations. He is presently Human Resources Manager and a Board Member of Vivo Energy Kenya Limited. Prior to this, he was Chief Human Resources Officer for Orange - Telkom Kenya. He was one of the Business Daily's ‘Top 40 under 40’ male professionals in Kenya in 2012. Fred is an Executive Coach, especially focusing on career issues, having graduated from the Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC), UK in 2016. He is a speaker on career and workplace related issues. He has previously contributed more than 400 articles to a Friday HR column for Nation newspapers. He holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University of the West of England in Bristol, UK. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, UK (FCIPD) and a member of the Institute of Human Resources Management in Kenya. Until he retired from competitive sport in 2010, Fred represented Kenya in the sport of Badminton as an athlete for nearly 20 years in various events, including three editions of Commonwealth Games. He served as Secretary General for Badminton Kenya for 12 years until 2011. Fred is the convener of BothSides, a debate platform developed to enhance the workplace and careers by bequeathing to participants breadth of perspective and depth of insight on pertinent work-related issues through debates between respected professionals. The debates incidentally provide opportunities for participants to establish and renew acquaintances.
