Allan Joshua currently serves as the Director of Strategy and Corporate Affairs at the Uganda Development Bank (UDB), the country’s national Development Finance Institution (DFI). In this role, he provides leadership in shaping, translating and driving the Bank’s strategy, with a particular focus on organisational alignment, mandate execution and institutional performance in support of Uganda’s development ambitions. He is directly accountable for various mission-critical functions in the Bank,  including Corporate Strategy; Human Resources; Corporate Innovation Program; Customer Experience; and Corporate Affairs (which encompasses Corporate Communications, Public Relations, CSR, and Stakeholder Management). He also provides management oversight for project management and risk management in the Bank. Professional Experience: With a rich and diverse professional background spanning development banking, commercial banking, the energy sector, and the United Nations (UN), Allan Joshua is an accomplished business executive with more than 15years’ professional experience. Before his tenure at UDB, he held executive and HR leadership positions with several organizations, including prominent regional banks within East Africa such Equity Bank (as General Manager HR) and Kenya Commercial Bank (as Head of HR for KCB Uganda). He also contributed his expertise to Uganda’s energy sector and before this, to the UNHCR, where he engaged in various impactful roles. Qualifications: Allan Joshua's academic qualifications include:

• A in Social Sciences from Makerere University, majoring in Economics;
• Advanced Diploma in Modern Management - Cambridge International College, UK;
• in Human Resource Management from the Edinburgh Business School (Herriot-Watt University), UK.
• He is a graduate of the CEO Apprenticeship Program - a collaborative program between the CEO Summit of Uganda, Strathmore Business School (Kenya), and the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in South Africa.

Professional Affiliations & Engagements: Allan Joshua is certified Project Management Professional. In the HR realm, he is:

• Member, HR Managers’ Association of Uganda (HRMAU);
• Member, Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), USA - where he holds professional certification as Senior Certified HR Professional (SCP-SHRM).
• He is a frequent speaker at the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) where he regularly shares his expertise on all matters strategy, organizational culture and transformation, human capital management, leadership, among other topical issues.
